The focus
of the paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of using rice husk ash (RHA)
as a
puzzuolanae to enhance the lime treatment of soil. The paper presents
the influence of different mix proportions of lime and RHA on compaction,
strength properties, CBR values and durability characteristics of soil. The
results show that addition of RHA enhances not only the strength development
but also the durability of lime stabilized soil.

Effect of Vertical Reinforcement on Bearing Capacity of Footing on Sand
|
The concept of reinforced earth for increasing the bearing capacity of subgrade soil or to increase the resistance for retaining structures by means of thin metal strips placed horizontally in layers held together by internal friction between the reinforcing strips and the material has been confirmed both theoretically and experimentally by many investigators. been used frequently in USA and other countries to make reinforced earth |

| 3. | Poor Drainage -A common Cause of Road Failure |
Drainage is an important Aspect of road construction and maintenance. It is of two types I) Surface drainage and II) sub surface drainage. Surface drainage is collection of rain water from the surface of the road to side drains or to lower sides in open terrain. It is possible if the road have sufficient cross slop ................

Out Lines For Theoretical Maximum Specific Gravity of Hot-Mix Asphalt Paving Mixtures |
This method covers the determination of the maximum specific gravity of un-compacted HMA paving mixtures. Test results are used to compute air voids and density in the compacted mix. |

Asphaltic (Bitumen + Aggregates) pavements are a crucial part of our nation’s transportation network. Asphalt construction is fast and relatively simple, it is economical, and the materials used for it are widely available. Asphaltic pavements generally fail due to: Stripping of the aggregates .............

Seal Coat – A Tonic for Weathered
Road Surfacing
|
All bituminous surfacing change with time in one way or another under the action of weather and traffic. The consistency of the binder changes with temperature, becoming softer in warm weather and harder in cold weather; the exposed binder also hardens continually as a result of atmospheric influence. The whole complex of changes under these influences is called weathering .......... | Er. Daljeet S Sidhu |
